Now for the always ridiculously long update!
Stats:
Weight- Still hanging on to the 20 lb range...he eats like a cow, but he isn't gaining much
Height--??
Size 4 diapers
12 to 18 mo clothes
Milestones:
Standing alone/getting to standing without holding on to anything--He just started doing this in the last week/few days! Henry has been pretty cautious to let go even though he can definitely do it! This makes me think that he might be a little bit of a late walker, which I'm completely okay with since he is doing great with his other milestones.
Baby Signs--Henry added "bath" this month, but he will only do it when he sees a baby in a bath tub in one of the books we are reading. He has made the sign for "more" several times now, but he doesn't do it consistently. He is also pointing out birds and trying to make a sign but not really making the sign yet. "Fan" and "All Done" are still his two favorite signs, and he also likes to wave bye bye a lot if the mood strikes him. Dada took him to Lowe's and showed him the fans, and Shaun reported back that he LOVED it.
Words- Dada is still his favorite word, but he is added a few more! He won't say mama that much right now if at all, but I'm sure he will start saying it again soon. He is saying "duck" a lot more, and he has said "bye bye" and "baby" (but he doesn't say those on a regular basis).
Animal sounds- Henry is really interested in listening to sounds this month so we have started teaching him a lot more animal sounds. He gets so excited when he hears the birds outside! The only sounds he can make so far is moooo for cow and baba for sheep. He rarely will make the sheep sound, but he will make the mooo sound if we make it first.
Acting like a big boy- He is starting to help a little with getting dressed by pushing out his arms. Henry likes to push the garage door button to close it with one finger. Starting to point to objects to let us know that he saw it. Turning off lights. And understanding so much of what we say!
Favorite books- Henry is still in love with books! I think his favorite this month would definitely be any books with animals. I can tell he really enjoys when I make the sounds or tickle the dog's belly.
Breastfeeding- Still going well although I'm starting to feel like I will be ready to wean in a month. I know it will be sad, but it will also be good to have more freedom. But I will be really happy to make it to our goal!
Sleep- Sleep training continues after a little setback from traveling and getting sick! Henry is improving with going down for his naps and nighttime sleep so I'm happy! I've really finally realized that Henry is a sensitive baby, and he can NOT go down to sleep if he is overtired. I'm basically having to stay home with him until after his afternoon nap to make sure that he doesn't get overstimulated. I have finally accepted that this is just how he needs it for now. I'm still making an exception for one or two times a week so that we can have some social time with friends.
This is such a sweet age. I think I might say that every month, but it is so true!!

How cute! My hubby was helping Carson push his stroller around the house last night too, it was so sweet.

Henry is adorable! How is it possible that he is almost one already? Seems like just yesterday we were going through IUI's doesn't it? I can't wait to read all about his big birthday bash!!!
Ok, in response to your comment....my girls love all the Little People toys but they especially love the Animal Sounds Farm. They think that it's funny to open the barn door and hear a cow moo'ing or a pig oinking. We also have the dance & twirl palace, but I'm thinking that Shaun may not approve of Henry playing with that! LOL...They also love The Little People books. The pages are easy for them to turn and they can't rip the pages.
Our girls also got mega blocks (in pink of course) for their birthday that they love playing with.
They also have a VTech learning laptop that is always one of the toys that they fight over.
We told people that the girls wanted diapers for their birthday. I was actually surprised at how many people did give them diapers. I was specific with the brand and size when I told everyone. Just a thought!

Thank you, Courtney, for keeping in touch with me! Wow! I love blogger moms! LOL I can honestly say that Mills has been such a good baby. Last night was the FIRST time that he's ever rejected sleep. Now, don't get me wrong, there have been times that I have put him in his bed and he has cried for about 15 or 20 minutes, but I am a "cry it out" mom and always have been. So, that's how we've gotten him to know that when its dark, and we put him in his bed, its bedtime! He goes down anywhere from 7:00pm-8:00pm until 6:30-7:00am. So, I can't complain. Last night was just a different scenario. I think that's why I felt so bad, but I still didn't go back in there! LOL
